Larry Jaroslawski - Builder (Wrestling) - Class of 2024

When it comes to wrestling, Larry “Mooch” Jaroslawski took the high school sport to levels never seen before. Larry took the reins of the E.C. Drury Wrestling Team in 1984.

Quickly he played a crucial role in establishing a dynasty built on hard work and fierce competition. Just two years into his coaching career at E.C. Drury, he led his Spartans to their first Halton team championship.

Throughout the mid to late 80s, Larry's contributions lifted the school’s team to their first Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference (GHAC) championship as well as individual wrestling titles. By 1994, his team had achieved their first gold. These were all precursors to the Drury dynasty which lasted 26 years. By 1995, the program added to its regional domination, placing fifth provincially at OFSAA.

Over the next few years, Larry led E.C. Drury to six consecutive OFSAA wins under the Spartan banner. He is the only coach to accomplish this feat in the history of OFSAA.

Larry has left an indelible wrestling legacy at E.C. Drury, and the impact on his students is undeniable. He has provided his students with lifelong experiences through various wrestling tournaments and the numerous trips he organized over his career at E.C. Drury. Larry’s dedication to the sport, and his students, earned him respect from his team and everyone who had the pleasure to work alongside him. To this day his passion for the sport remains endless.
